A recital told like a story, a meeting of two artists who think outside the box.

As a child, we lived on the 11th floor of a building in the heart of Colmar’s western district. From my room, the view of the Vosges Mountains was breathtaking and absolutely beautiful, especially on summer evenings when the sun’s pink-orange hues set the sky ablaze until they touched the earth.

From every window came a melody—here a radio, there a fado, over there a yodeler, then Oum Kalthoum, Franz Schubert, Giuseppe Verdi, Metallica, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Tino Rossi, Jacques Brel, and so many others whose names I’ve forgotten. An exuberant, fleeting joy resonated from every day, and for nothing in the world would I have left that space where every second told a story of eternity—a unique and wonderful journey.
