For years, the poetry of Arthur Rimbaud has haunted the minds of Virginie Schelcher and Dominique Zinderstein, members of the duo ViZ. So many books read, so many biographies pored over, only to always arrive at the same question: who is Rimbaud?

A mysterious figure, a brilliant poet whose writings—sometimes obscure, sometimes luminous—continue to pose the same questions with every reading. It was by setting his poetry to music and singing it that the duo found meaning in his work. And today, they dream of sharing it with you. It seemed obvious to pair the genius of this fleeting young poet with that of his companion in fortune and misfortune, the great Paul Verlaine. This performance features poems by Rimbaud and Verlaine set to music and staged by the two artists, along with brief anecdotes about this ill-fated couple of great poetry.
